Steps For A Typical Bone Surgery

। Get admitted in hospital. Have all food and water up till 12 midnight and nothing after that. Wake up early in morning, put on the typical apron that has loose knots and that has 99% chances of getting untied.

। First needle goes into the vein of your left hand behind the palm, used for putting on saline during and after the surgery. The procedure is that : First anesthesia is rubbed on the part behind the palm and then it is tapped to search for the right vein and then injection is put into that, so lots of anesthesia is rubbed.

। After this, if you can, go on your own to the operation theater, otherwise you are taken on a stretcher to there.

। You will see many faces, which are “smiling”. You have to smile back, well this maybe the scariest situation, but that's the last moment of relaxation for the next one month at least. Get on the bed there, you will be put on saline. The biggest needle will come out from some cave to scare you like hell. Don't worry the next few hours, you will enjoy the cynosure of all eyes and hands.

। That needle would put that part of your body where surgery is to be done as unconscious. Depending on that part you will be fully conscious and partially. Like if it is below hip, then only the below hip part will be unconscious, but if the injured part is above hip, your above hip part is to be unconscious, so your brain that is in that above hip part is to be unconscious, so you will be fully unconscious. I am lucky enough to have both experiences, as I had 2 surgeries each for above hip and below hip surgeries. Also if the injury is on right part, then the needle is put on left part and vice versa.

। In the last surgery, I was the luckiest, as I didn't sleep at all and I could hear all that the doctor and his assistants were talking about. After surgery, I saw my leg lifted high to get it rapped with band-aid, and blame it on my poor eyesight I was wondering if that leg is really mine.

। After all that, you are taken back to your hospital bed, that is going to turn into a monster in next few hours.

। You cant eat or drink for next two hours. In these two hours, you are put into saline for three times. After two hours, start with water, light food and then start on, get whatever food you want and feel whatever pain God will give you. Two times needles will be put on the backside of palm in two days that was used earlier for saline. Well this can be kinda painful as two needles are injected one after another. Till you get discharged out of the hospital, life just doesn't feel like moving on. Well that's when you rare to do great things after recovery.

9. You will get discharged, move into your home, life becomes somewhat controllable and thus you start learning some forgotten and unfelt things about life. Nothing can be above family and in that mom. Gives time to look back, can be dangerous too if remembering past bad experiences pulls you back, but is great to get a pause and plan things. Getting over from a surgery and moving ahead in life can't be easy if that's a serious one, but its like a rest, like a dock to get yourself recharged for the next journey, with a fact that the wooden boat is delicate, ride it with care, and make the most out of the wood with some wood in your heart.
